Juniper Mist consulting — wireless, wired and WAN
Juniper Mist manages wireless, switching and WAN from one cloud platform, and it works best when all three are designed together. I work across the whole platform, from the first AP placement to campus fabrics and SRX branches.
Wireless
Wireless design. Coverage and capacity planning for offices, warehouses, campuses and venues, AP model selection, mounting and channel planning, and validating the design after install.
Mist AP deployment. Claiming and onboarding APs, site and RF templates, WLAN templates, and getting a consistent configuration across many sites.
SSIDs and access. 802.1X with RADIUS, PSK and multi-PSK, guest portals, and VLAN mapping to the switches behind them.
Location and analytics. Virtual BLE and location services where they add value.
Troubleshooting. Using Mist’s service levels and Marvis to find the cause of poor wireless experience, whether it’s RF, DHCP, DNS, authentication or the wired network.
Wired
EX switching in Mist. Switch templates, port profiles, and moving existing EX switches from the CLI into Mist management without losing configuration.
Campus fabrics. Mist-managed EVPN-VXLAN campus fabrics, including choosing between core-distribution and IP-clos topologies and a phased rollout that starts in a lab.
Out-of-band networks. Mist-managed management networks for data centers and campuses. See Juniper EX and QFX for more.
WAN
SRX WAN Assurance. Onboarding SRX branch firewalls into Mist, WAN edge templates and application visibility. See Juniper SRX.
Marvis and day-two operations
Marvis. Setting up Marvis Actions and the conversational assistant so your team sees problems before users report them.
Org and site structure. Org templates, site groups, role-based access and naming so a multi-site Mist org stays manageable as it grows.
Moving to Mist
Migrations from other wireless and switching platforms, including AP replacement plans, configuration translation and a cutover schedule that keeps sites online.
