Services

Six ways to work together. Most clients start with a short call and either a block of troubleshooting hours or a scoped project.

Troubleshooting and rescue

A VPN that won't come up, a fabric throwing anomalies, BGP sessions that flap, DHCP that stopped handing out leases. I work remotely through a screen share or read-only access, find the cause, fix it, and write up what changed.

Hourly, or a prepaid block of hours you draw down as needed.

Design and build

New data center fabrics, campus networks, firewall edges and routing designs on Juniper, from requirements through a tested deployment. Includes the design document, build, validation and handover.

Fixed-scope project with a written statement of work.

Automation and infrastructure as code

Apstra fabrics, Infoblox DDI and Junos configuration defined in Terraform and Ansible, kept in Git and deployed through a pipeline. I can automate a network I build, or add automation to one that was built by hand.

Project, or an assessment followed by a first automation project.

Migrations

Moving firewalls onto SRX, M series routers onto MX, other vendors' switching onto EX and QFX, and Microsoft DNS, DHCP and BIND onto Infoblox. Every migration gets a cutover runbook and a rollback plan.

Fixed-scope project.

Training and knowledge transfer

Team training on Infoblox, Apstra, Terraform for networks and Juniper operations, delivered on-site or remotely. I taught Infoblox's official curriculum as a contracted instructor, and I build training into every project so your team can run what I leave behind.

Per day, or bundled with a project.

Fractional network architect

A standing number of hours each month for design reviews, change reviews, vendor evaluations and escalations, for teams that need senior judgment but not a full-time hire.

Monthly retainer.

How an engagement starts

  1. A 30-minute call. You describe the problem or project; I tell you honestly whether I'm the right person for it.
  2. A short written proposal. Scope, approach, timeline and price, or an hourly block for troubleshooting.
  3. The work. Remote by default, on-site when the job needs it. You get regular updates, not silence until the end.
  4. Handover. Documentation of what changed and why, and time with your team so they can run it.
